The story in short
Digital Realty started in 2004 as a new kind of real-estate investor: buying and operating technical buildings rather than offices. It grew through acquisitions, two of them decisive: Telx (2015) for US interconnection, then Interxion (2020, about $8.4bn), which brought the whole of Europe and its carrier-neutral culture.
Footprint
More than 300 data centers across 50+ metros. In France the core is Paris, with the Interxion-heritage sites (PAR1–PAR8) and the La Courneuve Digital Park, an urban campus of several tens of megawatts, plus Marseille — the Mediterranean landing hub where its MRS sites play a continental role.
