You then live there thanks to everything else: someone to replug a cable at three in the morning, a box of spare disks on site, a desk to work at during installation, and one day a clean route for disposing of a server without letting its data walk away. Billing usually takes the form of an included monthly allowance, then an hourly rate beyond it, often in minimum increments and uplifted outside business hours. Most buyers compare that hourly rate. It is the wrong lens: what decides your recovery time is the RESPONSE time and the guaranteed skill level, not the price of an hour. An eighty-euro intervention starting in four hours costs far more than a hundred and forty euro one starting in thirty minutes.
A box of spare parts in a locked cabinet a few metres from your rack completely changes the arithmetic of an outage.
